You’ll even notice a couple team specific plays, and smoother blocks. You’ll notice a couple tweaks to the gameplay formula. It’s impressive and noticeable, but it’s still aesthetic. ![]() Once again you get to see sweat beading up on players’ skin and clothes wrinkle as players launch for dunks. Faces are still a little creepy, but they do have a wider range of emotions than they did in the past. Bodies move very realistically, more so than they ever have before. We are starting our long and arduous ascent out of the uncanny valley now, and that’s pretty cool. ![]() The most notable immediate difference is the graphics which once again have been updated to fit next generation systems. Actually, this probably would have been a good place to put a tutorial, but I digress. You can jump in with no tutorial, no manual, and no instruction whatsoever and you are fine. improvements, a couple changes to how shooting works to help you make your shots more accurately, and movement feels a bit tighter all around, but that’s it. When all the bells and whistles are taken away, this is the basketball game you are playing.” You can’t leave unless you complete the game, like you are being asked, “Do you really want to be here?” It’s probably because the game is installing something in the background or whatever, but it still came across as a useful tool for this review as this one game gives you a look underneath NBA 2K15’s hood, so to speak.Īnd what did I find there? Pretty much the same game as NBA 2K14. It’s like the game is saying, “This is it. It’s just you, your opponents, and the court. You don’t get to choose your teams or anything, and there isn’t any commentary. The very first thing that happens when you boot up NBA 2K15 for the first time, is play a game.

![]() ![]() Better for a young thing like you to be filled with fire, and leave the doom and gloom to your elders. Shtola used to spit and hiss like a wildcat, too. Weren’t you supposed to be the lively one? I’ve seen happier faces at a rain-sodden burial.Īlisaie: Well, I’m sorry to dash your expectations, but the situation isn’t exactly conducive to gaiety. I mistook you for young what’s-his-name, but I see now you’re the sister. Matoya: Come to disturb my peace again, have you? I hide myself away in a cave, and still you people insist on pestering me with your problems. Still, I’ll happily overlook her eccentricities if she agrees to help us. I will have need of Master Matoya’s Crystal Eye if I’m even to make the attempt, so I suggest we pay her a visit.Īlisaie: I’d heard Master Matoya was something of a recluse, but this seems…extreme. Krile: If we assume the aether which comprises your essence is being drawn to some other place… Then it may be possible to follow the trail it leaves behind, just as we did in our search for Thancred.Īlisaie: I wasn’t around for that. When you heard this mysterious voice, you described feeling as if you were “somewhere else,” yes? The Elder Seedseer made a similar observation. It’s as if their souls have taken leave of their physical forms.Īlisaie: Ah. At a glance, I would say they were merely sound asleep… …Except for the fact that I couldn’t sense the slightest trace of “them” in their bodies. Krile: All three are in fine physical health. They’re in the infirmary, I assume? I’ll need absolute quiet, so it would be best if I did this alone. Mum’s the word, eh? Right, I had better have a look at our patients. ![]() A certain someone whom he’d be mortified to learn had heard about his little speech. Slowly but surely, his eyes have been opened ─ thanks to a certain someone. Though his values remain the same, Alphinaud is not the blinkered boy he once was. But I’m worried he was too fixated on his goals to see the dangers, as has happened before… But the fact of the matter is, he meant every word, and has lived his life accordingly.Īlisaie: Yes, he remains altruistic to a fault. Krile: That particular grand pronouncement has been a source of great embarrassment to him, as you know. Do you remember the speech he gave when he was accepted to the Studium?Īlisaie: “My life’s goal is naught less than the salvation of this star!” “And then Alphinaud would sing ‘ I’m a Little Teapot.’ It was his favorite!” Now, what’s this I hear about Alphinaud heading into imperial territory? That boy always did have some funny ideas. Krile: And I should be happy to provide it. As a fellow Scion, not to mention your erstwhile mentor, this is one of those times you should feel free to call on me ─ regardless of my personal circumstances.Īlisaie: I… Yes, I should have thought of that. Krile: When word reached me of the plight of our friends, I could not well stay away. Krile is here to help with the power of infinite cuteness.Īlisaie: Krile! I thought you busy delving into the mysteries of Eureka… Gods, it’s all going wrong… Where do we even start? Whatever the answer is, it’s not alchemy or conjury… Why did it have to be Y’shtola and Urianger, and not me? Out of all of us, they are the ones who could feasibly have solved this puzzle. After you left, we reached out to both the Alchemist’s Guild and Stillglade Fane, and attempted all manner of treatments… But the results were always the same. Alisaie: I’m glad you’ve come, though I’m afraid there’s little in the way of good news. ![]() Still, this game wouldn’t have the fan base it has without being a little entertaining and, since I never got the chance to play this game when it was released, there’s no better time than now to grab it on EA Play through the Xbox Game Pass. What was once a unique franchise isn’t so special anymore when we’re getting a new Assassin’s Creed every year, if you know what I mean. There are a plethora of games on offer these days that can deliver that sweet sweet parkour action in a variety of fun and exciting ways. Well, after years of waiting that sequel finally came in 2016 when the world was finally introduced to the long-awaited, Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst.īut that was over 4 years ago and let’s be real. This unique quality and the exciting gameplay helped this game find a dedicated audience and it seemed like a sequel was always going to be a sure thing. There were first-person shooters everywhere you looked, so imagine the shock when DICE and EA (the partnership that brought one of my favorite games, Battlefield: Bad Company) decide to make a first-person game that was all about the movement instead. The original Mirror’s Edge was released when there was absolutely nothing like it at the time. So, naturally, it was only a matter of time before the video game world got its own taste of this flourishing extreme sport. Parkour was blazing a trail across the internet and was featured heavily in movies like Casino Royale and the Jason Bourne franchise. Man, I remember it like it was just yesterday.
